Objectives
The goal of the Debrecen Marathon is to offer runners an unforgettable experience. We want to share the joy of running and racing together in a modern, welcoming environment along a beautiful and diverse city route.
We also want to inspire your own personal goals—we’re here to motivate you! Set a distance that feels right for you, or push your boundaries even further. We provide the opportunity for growth, the path, and the thrill of crossing the finish line.
Through its multidisciplinary education, research, and development, the University of Debrecen contributes to the advancement of universal science and Hungarian society. Its mission is carried out jointly by faculty, staff, and students, committed to quality and in collaboration with local and international partners. The development of sports and health is highlighted as a key strategic area in its mission statement.
It is in this spirit that the idea of the Debrecen Marathon was born, envisioned by the university's experts. The goal of the event is for the institution to step beyond its campus walls and, in cooperation with the City of Debrecen, promote the joy of sports, running, and sustainability in urban recreational running events.
We are pleased to introduce you to the Debrecen Marathon's sports health partner, the University of Debrecen's Sports Diagnostics, Lifestyle and Therapy Center (SET Center).

Many of you already know it, but for those who don't, we encourage you to give it a try!
You can choose from three types of t-shirts, including two premium race t-shirts and a basic t-shirt, if you want a souvenir of the Debrecen Marathon. We care about our environment, so all t-shirts are optional and can be purchased.
We have opened online registration for all distances of the Debrecen Marathon next March.
